You're thinking - Wales? Well, read on.....

Some tough matches to pick on Friday at a glance. The Dutch 2nd division kicks off, and I might have a look there once I see some odds, but there are two matches right now that interest me:

The best of the two is the solo offering in the English Championship, where Cardiff host Plymouth. Even though Plymouth has 4 points from 2 matches, as do Cardiff, their win was against fellow promotion-getters Brighton. Cardiff is not a bad home club, and I don't see Plymouth winning in Wales.

So, to make a long story short - 1X on Cardiff.

I am curious as to thoughts on taking the 1X in Erzgebirge Aue against 1860 in the 2. Bundesliga. 1860 started poorly at home to Unterhaching, while Aue provided a rude 2. Bundesliga welcome to Rot-Weiss Essen. Will they slack off, and 1860 pick up the pace, or will Aue have enough for at least a draw? Aue were excellent at home last season......

Gooooood luck!

I think I will leave the 2. Bundesliga be today - that match-up is just a little too risky.

Instead, I may yet take a flutter on the 1X in this match in the Regionalliga Sued:

SC Feucht - Mainz 05 (A)

Feucht started with an away loss in Offenbach, while Mainz got past Darmstadt in their home opener. Last season, Feucht was very solid at home, losing only 4, and 2 of those were when they were a man down. Mainz, on the other hand, only won 3 away, and two of those against relegated teams.

On paper, this looks like a fairly even match, and since a draw is just as good as a win, I like my chances of getting soem return here. Comments very welcome.

I am interested indeed! Now I'm back to being undecided - do I take Feucht for a little less return, but possibly more safety, or Erzgebirge for the money and the risk?

I'll be back later with a decision.......

reason for Aue is they have been in relegation trouble early last season, but came back very strong. if you only look at the last 10 games of last season they would have finished in 2nd place..combine that with the impressive win in the opener and there might be a team to watch that actually has found a solid formation to compete.
